A group of former Findhorn community members, headed by herbalist Jock Millenson, left Scotland to found a venue in Anilio, Pelion where they could bring what they liked best about Findhorn to a warm, sunny, seaside environment. Drawing further inspiration from their experience of the Auroville and ZEGG projects in India and Germany, they sought to bring together these various elements to create a community environment that would be both educational and restorative.
With the project growing, the group lost the lease at Anilio and two key members to illness and was obliged to disband.
The original vision was revived when Kalikalos, our sister centre, was founded in a new venue 3 km from Anilio in the village of Kissos.
The lease to the original venue became available. Retaining Kissos, the group expanded back to Anilio and began to operate two campuses.
The Anilio group elected to become independent leaving two closely related projects sharing resources and a common holistic vision.
And so Spiti ton Kentavron (StK) was born as a non-profit organisation with a core group of staff trained in communication techniques and in ecovillage and permaculture design and comprising former Findhorn and Zegg community members.
